Oslo Pix Film Festival is an audience festival that features award-winning and groundbreaking films, whether they are large Hollywood productions, experimental indies, or celebrated classics. The festival will also arrange exclusive advance screenings of upcoming theatrical releases.

Oslo Pix Film Festival takes place at Vega Scene, Cinemateket and at Nordisk Film Kino cinemas, as well as smaller local scenes and outdoor locations in Oslo. In addition to film screenings, the festival will offer an exciting social arena complete with food, drinks, and music.

During this year’s festival, you can look forward to unique experiences at Grünerløkka like outdoor screenings in Birkelunden Park, the Pix Pub Crawl featuring Oslo-based short films at local pubs at Grünerløkka, and dance-inspired films at Dansens Hus in the Pix on Art section, as well as screenings and events at Vega Scene.

The Oslo Festival Agency is behind Oslo Pix Film Festival, as well as the film festivals Arab Film Days and Films from the South.

MIRAGE. Festival for the Art of Cinema.

Dates and program will be presented here.

MIRAGE is an international film festival dedicated to the art of cinema and the craft of filmmaking. A vibrant, creative meeting place where audiences experience art both inside and outside the cinema, where film intersects with other art forms, and where the public can engage with innovative, forward-thinking artists and filmmakers from around the world. MIRAGE Professionals is the festival’s industry section, focusing on the craft and process of filmmaking. It is a professional hub and international platform for filmmakers, cinematographers, sound designers, editors, directors, and all creatives in the collaborative art of film.

Highlights from the latest edition of the MIRAGE Festival included a full-house Opening Night featuring the Oscar-nominated Soundtrack to a Coup d’Etat at Frogner Kino, followed by a jazz concert by Bugge Wesseltoft. This year’s Sculpture Awards, created by Norwegian artist Barbro Raen Thomassen, were presented during an award ceremony on the MS Nobel, where we welcomed jury members Victor Kossakovsky (Directing), Ollie Huddleston (Editing), Sturla Brandth Grøvlen (Cinematography), and Nicolas Becker (Sound). The award winners were: Rik Chaubet (Soundtrack to a Coup d’Etat, MIRAGE Editing Award), Roberto Minervini (The Damned, MIRAGE Directing Award), Stefan Sick (The Landscape and the Fury, MIRAGE Cinematography Award), and Attila Faravelli, Jochen Jezussek, and Simon Fisher Turner (A Fidai Film, MIRAGE Sound Award). The festival also celebrated Sermon to the Birds by Hilal Baydarov, named Film of the Year, and a standing ovation was given to Lola Arias, winner of the 2024 International Ibsen Prize, and her team behind Reas.

Piknikk i parken

12-14 June – Piknikk i Parken (PIPfest) music festival, Sofienbergparken

Since 2014, «Picnic in the Park» have organized Oslo’s most centrally located music festival in green surroundings – first in Vigelandsparken before moving the picnic to Sofienbergparken in 2019.

In 2025, it will be 11 years since we started celebrating the start of summer with a folk festival and fantastic music experiences, and we look forward to another festival with you.
