Demonstrating the beauty and variation of the plant kingdom. Visit the arboretum with trees from Norway and other corners of the world, and the thematic gardens such as The Viking Garden and the Rock Garden. In the middle of the garden there is a nice cafê, and our museum shop carries a wide selection of gift items.
The Botanical Garden, founded in 1814, belongs to the Natural History Museum of the University of Oslo. Through research, education and plant conservation, the garden seeks to increase public awareness of the importance of plant diversity. The plant collections contain approx. 4 500 species.
All the plants are divided into thematic gardens, including our two greenhouses The Victoria House and The Palm House.
