Festivals in Grünerløkka: Music, Film and Community in the Heart of Oslo

The Grünerløkka neighborhood comes alive each summer with an exciting lineup of festivals. These festivals showcase the district’s rich cultural tapestry. From live music under the trees of Sofienbergparken to cutting-edge cinema and international film talent, Grünerløkka transforms into a hub of artistic expression and community celebration. Whether you’re into soulful melodies, cinematic masterpieces, or creative industry networking, here are three highlights to look forward to in 2025.

Piknikk i Parken

Piknik i Parken (PiP) is one of Oslo’s most beloved music festivals. It is returning from 12–14 June 2025 in the lush surroundings of Sofienbergparken, Grünerløkka. Known for its intimate, laid-back vibe, PiP blends world-class music with a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere that feels more like a community picnic than a typical festival.

The 2025 edition features an exciting mix of Norwegian and international artists. Confirmed acts include AURORA, Susanne Sundfør, Faithless, Leftfield, Okay Kaya, ARY, ULD, Maribou State, Marstein, Casiokids and more. This genre-spanning lineup covers pop, indie, electronic, and rock, offering something for every musical taste.

A Festival for All Ages

PiP is designed with inclusivity in mind. Children under 12 enter for free when accompanied by an adult. The park transforms into a colourful haven of picnic blankets, bunting, and food stalls. This creates a welcoming space for families, friends, and solo festival-goers alike.

Tickets range from NOK 895 for single-day passes to NOK 1,765 for full festival access. For more information and tickets, visit the official website: pipfest.no

Whether you’re a local or visiting Oslo in June, Piknik i Parken is a must-experience celebration of music, community, and summer in one of the city’s most scenic parks.
