We are just a few days in to 2024, but we have already some preliminary dates for what is happening in Grünerløkka this season. You can check the Events section on the front page for updates, but here are some of this years highlights:
Løkkadagene
4. – 5. May

This is our local market days (Saturday-Sunday) that Visit Løkka host two times a year. We close Markveien for traffic, and the shops have good offerings and sales. In the Olaf Ryes park, you’ll find a variety of stands and street food, and entertainment for children. We have a large handicraft market, and you can meet local associations, municipality and sports teams. It’s just a joyous day to visit Grünerløkka!
Oslo Musikkfest
1. June, all over Oslo and Grünerløkka
During the Musikkfest day, the whole of Oslo becomes a festival arena, we celebrate music and the start of the festival season with music in the streets and parks, in squares and squares. At Musikkfest you will find many kinds of music – and it’s all free!
Oslo Matfestival
1-2 June, Sofienbergparken, Grünerløkka
24-25 August, Birkelunden, Grünerløkka
At the Oslo Food Festival, the city’s residents from far and near come together with their local specialities. Somali sambosa, Argentinian barbecue or perhaps French finesse? At the Oslo Food Festival we celebrate diversity. You will be served by both local and renowned restaurants, as well as private individuals with a genuine interest in their country’s food culture!
PiPfest
13-15. June, Sofienbergparken
Also known as «Picnic in the Park» is a very popular music festival that brings both local and international artist to the Sofienberg park at Grünerløkka. The music is varied, and there is something for everybody. You will also find a very good food court, children’s area, shopping street, chillout lounge, cocktail bar, wine bar, many hangouts and a variety of fun activities to attend. Oslo Pride
21-29 June, Sofienbergparken
It will be extra lively on Løkka when the Oslo Pride festival visits Grünerløkka for their 50th anniversary! Oslo Pride is Norway’s largest celebration of queer love and diversity, focussing on equal rights and human dignity. The festival lasts for 9 days and consists of Pride House, Pride Park, Mini Pride and the Pride Parade. It is a festival where everyone can be exactly who they are. Oslo Pride is created by about 80 year-round volunteers and around 300 volunteers who become involved during the festival.
Oslo Pix film festival
26 August – 1. Sept. Grünerløkka
Oslo Pix Film Festival is an audience festival that features award-winning and groundbreaking films, whether they are large Hollywood productions, experimental indies or celebrated classics. The festival will also arrange exclusive advance screenings of upcoming theatrical releases. Oslo Pix Film Festival takes place at Vega Scene and Ringen Kino, as well as smaller local scenes and outdoor locations in Oslo’s Grünerløkka district.
