The foundation Anker STI is announcing the opening of Bunks at Rode, an innovative accommodation concept designed specifically for budget travelers visiting Oslo and Grünerløkka.
Bunks at Rode will be a playful hostel concept located in Rodeløkka, just minutes from the popular Grünerløkka neighborhood. With 7 unique dormitories and newly renovated common areas that include a bar, lounge, cinema room, and a spectacular rooftop terrace, the opening is planned for May 31, 2024. The concept will also offer private rooms, currently operated under the brand name Anker Apartment.
Vibrant, social and fun
Each dormitory and the pod-inspired beds are tailored to provide guests with a truly special experience. «We have placed great emphasis on guest feedback during the design process. In collaboration with Hødnebø Prosjekt, we have challenged ourselves to think big and differently», says Hotel Director Celine Emanuelsen. «This has been a fantastic project, where the word ‘fun’ has been at the forefront. The main themes have been vibrant colors and bold choices. Both the process and the end result reflect this, with one showstopper following another», adds Åse Jerrhag from Hødnebø Prosjekt.
While Oslo has established many exciting hotel concepts in recent years, the city currently has limited offerings for budget travelers. «Inspired by other innovative players in Europe, Bunks at Rode is the rebel that aims to change the perception of Oslo as a destination. Our ambition is for more backpackers to discover everything the city has to offer», explains Emanuelsen.
A key focus area for Bunks at Rode is socialization and community. A dedicated team will organize weekly activities and events that will be central to the guest experience. «Our target audience prioritizes a social atmosphere and community over luxury. At Bunks, they’ll get exactly that without compromising comfort or their wallets», says team leader Erika Pudas.
The 350 students residing in the building will have access to the new common areas at Bunks at Rode. Our goal is to create space for new connections and a truly special atmosphere, where students and travelers come together.
Anker STI is also the owner of the popular Anker Hotel located at the south end of Grünerløkka, surrounded by green parks and lively streets and close to the city center. A popular and affordable hotel for anyone visiting Grünerløkka.
